Simply send this list of questions to a local business owner. It’s a win-win situation for everyone, plus they will love the free exposure and you benefit from more original content on your real estate blog!

•    Landscapers
•    Home Inspectors

Sample Questions
Make sure your business partner understand that this is not an opportunity to hard sale but to provide valuable information and be seen a consumer advocate and a trusted advisor. (stick with the soft sale approach)

Tell your clients that this isn’t simply a testimonial for you to use to gloat about. Your goal is to help educate consumers. Your clients should take it from a standpoint of them giving advice to a fellow home buyer or home seller. BTW - they will love your motivation of truly wanting to be a resource of information.
•    Having recently bought or sold a home, what advice can you give to other consumers getting ready to buy or sell?

•    A day in the life of.. (this helps justify your commission)
•    What it takes to effectively market a home (listing coordinator)
•    What day should you put your home on the market (Thursday)
•    Pricing Strategy (the 999 vs 000) Being at the top of the search results (MLS tool, search results) (shows that you go the extra mile in pricing strategy)
•    The role of a buyer’s agent (show your customer service and protect their interest)

Bonus Tip - Post Ideas That Come From Writing Emails - Yes it Happens!

Today, as I was responding to Mainline real estate agent Pat Moyer, one of our “Gold Star” Blogging Boot Camp students in this session, this last paragraph is the result of an email I wrote to Pat this afternoon. In my email to Pat I stated…..

“I think you are on to something about blogging about an occasional life experience. Those situations make great life lessons. It is incumbent upon us to share those experiences to prevent our readers from making the same mistakes others have made. That’s the real mark of a true advocate –one who is willing to spread the message to help others. A real estate blog is the perfect vehicle to spread that message! I think I just wrote part of a post! WOW! It really does work!”

Where Will Your Next Post Idea Come From?

As you can see, what you write about can come from any number of ideas, situations, and resources (previously written listing presentation, your marketing plan, your email newsletter..etc). Don’t be paralyzed by what you can’t do! Be set free to blog about the wealth of knowledge and expertise you possess and the life lessons you experience in your world. Helping others by providing high value information and guiding consumers to avoid the pitfalls in real estate are priceless gems and well worth the effort to write about. Do that and you will create a loyal group of readers!
